To the association of Chabad women and girls[1],
in London, may Hashem grant them long life,
Greetings and blessings,
I was pleased to receive your letter of 3 Menachem[2], in which you describe your work program for the future. It is no doubt unnecessary to underline to you the necessity of bringing in new members to your organization.
For Chabad women are not only those who were born into a Chabad family or found themselves in a Chabad environment. This name may also be given to them on the basis of their future situation[3]. If one addresses them in the proper way, they will indeed draw close to the Chabad movement.
You surely know the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, which he related in the name of the Alter Rebbe*, that Chassidus* is addressed not only to one group of Yidden* but indeed to the entire klal Yisrael*. And the word of the tzaddik* of our generation will in any case be fulfilled. Nevertheless, a certain time may be necessary for this. But one may hasten its realization through the energy invested in this fulfillment. In this way, one reaches the final goal more quickly.
You ask me how to organize the study of Chumash* and the other teachings. These must be adapted to your participants, according to what is preferable for them and what arouses their interest. Likewise, it is good to teach them the laws useful for daily life.
You will therefore speak about this to the elder chassidim in your city. They will indicate to you the seforim* in which you will find the laws suitable for this teaching. You surely possess the "Sichos im HaTze'irim" ("Conversations with Youth") published, for several years, by the Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch*. You will find in them rich explanations for every week of the year.
With my blessing that Hashem grant success to each of your participants, as well as to the members of their families, in all that they need, and that they may always be able to announce good news,
