and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

I have duly received your letters of the 14th and 15th of Menachem Av, with what was enclosed. I thank you for the good news that your second letter announced. Thus, we have at last obtained victory. I hope that with time these people will also accept the points on which, for now, they have not yet given their agreement. I await good news on this subject.

You speak of a rav[2] who wishes to translate some articles and stories from the "Sichos im HaTze'irim" ("Conversations with Youth"). I leave this to your judgment, and you will decide on the spot what is to be done. If you consider it good to give him authorization, and, of course, if he publishes in an Orthodox periodical, you will ask him for an official letter by which he commits himself, for each article or story published, to cite the reference of the Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch*, exclusive owner of the rights to these texts. This is what has been done several times, in different countries.

Three mezuzos* have been sent to you, as you had requested, and the office must have contacted you directly regarding the abridged Shulchan Aruch*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו מי"ד וט"ו מנ"א עם המצורף לו ות"ח על הבשו"ט במכתבו השני אשר סו"ס דידן נצח ותקותי חזקה אשר במשך הזמן גם פרטים אלו שעדיין לא הסכימו עליהם יתמלאו ולבשו"ט אחכה.

בנוגע לבקשת הרב... אודות העתקת איזה מאמרים וסיפורים מהשמועסין וכו', הנה אל בינתו אשען שידון על אתר ואם ימצא לנכון להרשות להם (אם כמובן הירחון שלהם הוא חרדי וכו') אזי בטח ידרוש מהם מכתב רשמי ובו התחייבות שעל כל מאמר וסיפור צריכים להורות שזה ברשיון של המל"ח ואשר הקאפירייט הוא רק ברשות המל"ח, ועד"ז עשו זה מכבר איזה פעמים במדינות שונות...

ג' מזוזות נשלחו כהוראתו. ע"ד הקצשו"ע כבר כתבו לו ישר מהלשכה.
