Greetings and blessings,

Your bar mitzvah will be celebrated on Shabbos* Parshas Tavo, which approaches in a positive way, for us and for all Yisrael. In addition to what I told you when you came to see me, I would therefore like to wish you again, on this occasion, to grow, from "the age of thirteen," when "one is bound by the practice of the mitzvos*," until "the age of fifteen," when "one progresses to the study of Gemara*," as the Mishnah* says, in the fifth chapter of the tractate Avos*.

Everything is an effect of Divine Providence, and one must draw from it a teaching for life. In this case, your bar mitzvah is celebrated in a shul*, which is a "mikdash me'at*," on the luminous date of 18 Elul[1]. One must, undoubtedly, draw from this a teaching for one's conduct.

My father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit shall protect us, says that[2] 18 Elul is the day that infuses vitality[3]. Through the strength it brings, one can vivify the entire month of Elul, that of the moral accounting of the entire year.

May Hashem help you to do all that is in your power, in order to become an enthusiastic and warmhearted Jew. For this, you will base your existence on Torah and the mitzvos. In this way, you will cleave to Hashem, Creator of the world, just as Moshe Rabbeinu* said to us: "And you who cleave to Hashem your Elokim*, all of you are alive today."

With my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year, that your parents have much nachas* from you and from your brother, a Jewish and chassidic nachas,

כל דבר הוא הרי בהשגחה פרטית וצריך ללמוד מזה הוראה בחיים,

ומכך שחגיגת הבר מצוה שלך היא בבית הכנסת ,בית מקדש מעט ,וביום

הבהיר ח״י אלול צריך להפיק מכך הוראה כיצד להתנהג.

ממנו לוקחים חיות שבכוחו מחיים את כל חודש אלול ,שהוא חודש

החשבון על כל השנה .והשי״ת יעזור לך שתעשה את כל התלוי בך להיות

יהודי חם וחי ,שזה בא ע״י חיים המנוהלים ברוח של תורה ומצוה ואשר

עי״ז מתקשרים עם הקדוש ברוך הוא בורא עולם כפי שמשה רבנו אומר

לנו ואתם הדבקים בה׳ אלקיכם חיים כולכם היום.

בברכת כתיבה וחתימה טובה ושהוריך ירוו ממך ומאחיך רוב נחת,

נחת יהודי נחת חסידי.
