Greetings and blessings,

You write to me about your eldest daughter, who has already been married for eight years and still has no child. You must, first of all, verify whether she is observing taharas hamishpachah* properly, as Jewish women must do. This is, among Jews, the first means of having children and of having them in good health.

Obviously, these laws exert their influence on children and grandchildren for many generations. One must therefore not be embarrassed to speak of it once, then a second time, and many times, until the adoption of these principles which are at the foundation of taharas hamishpachah. I hope that you will act in this sense.

מה שכותב אודות בתו הגדולה מרת . . .שזה כבר שמונה שנים

אחרי חתונתה ובינתיים עדיין אין לה ילדים .הי׳ עליו לברר מיד האם

שומרת היא טהרת המשפחה כפי שבנות ישראל צריכות לשמור ,שזהו

התנאי הראשון אצל יהודים שיהיו ילדים ,וילדים בריאים ,ומובן מאליו

שבדבר כזה שנוגע בילדים ונכדים לדורי דורות ,אין להתבייש לדבר פעם

פעמיים ופעמים רבות עד שענין טהרת המשפחה יתבצע ,ובתקוה

שיעשה בזה . . .
