To my close relative, the rav, distinguished chassid,
who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,
Rav Azriel Zelig[1],

Greetings and blessings,

I received with dismay your letter of erev Shabbos Toldos, in which you mention your state of health. No doubt you will conform to the prescriptions of the doctors, so that, very soon, you will be able to inform me that you have recovered your health and that you are returning, little by little, to your sacred mission, of course with the agreement of the doctors.

This month is that of the geulah* and miracles for all of Yisrael. It is also that of the liberation of the Alter Rebbe*, which is, in fact, also a miracle concerning the entirety of our people. And you know the saying of the Alter Rebbe[2], according to which Chassidus* concerns the entirety of the Jewish people.

May there therefore be accomplished in us the desire of our holy master[3], and may we be able to reveal the essence of ourselves, our entire existence, its quintessence, and its revealed aspect. Such moral health permits also having physical health.

May Hashem grant that you inform me, very soon, of good news on this subject.

נבהלתי לקבלת מכתבו מעש"ק תולדות, בו כותב אודות בריאותו, ובודאי ימלא כהוראת הרופאים ובמילא יוכל להודיע בקרוב ממש אשר הוטב מצב בריאותו ולאט לאט חוזר לעבודתו בקדש כמובן ברשיונם של הנ"ל.

וכיון שחדש זה הוא חדש הגאולה והנסים של כלל ישראל ונס גאולת רבינו הזקן שבאמת הוא ג"כ נסים של כלל ישראל וכידוע פתגם אדמוה"ז שתורת החסידות היא שייכה לכלל ישראל, הנה יקויים בנו איווי נשיאינו הק' שיהי' גילוי עצמותינו, כל המציאות העצם וההתפשטות - אשר בריאות כזו ברוחניות בדרך ממילא מביא בריאות בגשמיות עד"ז והשי"ת יזכהו לבשר טובות עד"ז בקרוב ממש.
