Greetings and blessings,

I received in its time your letter of 3 Kislev. I await good news of the state of health of your wife, the rebbetzin. The month of Kislev is propitious for this[1], for the women took part in the miracle[2], as the Rashbam in particular explains, commenting on tractate Pesachim 108b.

You know the explanation that the Arizal* gives of the verse "these days are remembered and effected." He says that, when they are commemorated here below, all the blessings are effected above and are revealed here below.

בעתו קבלתי מכתבו מג' כסלו, ואחכה לבשו"ט מבריאות זוגתו הרבנית תחי', והרי חדש כסלו מסוגל לזה כי אף הם היו באותו הנס ובפרט לפירוש הרשב"ם (פסחים ק"ח ע"ב) והרי ידוע פי' האריז"ל על הפסוק והימים האלה נזכרים ונעשים, שכשהם נזכרים למטה הרי נעשים כל ההשפעות למעלה ונמשכות גם למטה.
