Igrot Kodesh · Letter 2295 — Chinuch

Volume 8 · Letter 50 · To: dirigeants de la Yechiva A’heï Temimim de Boston

B"H,

12 Kislev 5714,

Brooklyn, New York,

To the directors of the Yeshivah Achei Temimim of Boston
and to the participants in the tenth annual banquet of the yeshivah,
may Hashem grant you long life,

Greetings and blessings,

I learned with pleasure that the tenth annual banquet of the Yeshivah Achei Temimim of Boston will take place on Sunday, 15 Kislev, which is approaching. On this occasion, I address my wishes of welcome to the directors of the yeshivah and to all those who take part in this banquet.

When Jews gather for a goal linked to Torah and the mitzvos*, one can be assured that good fruits and success will result from it. How much more is this the case when it concerns giving a good chinuch* to children, in whom we place our hopes and who will ensure, in the next generation, the continuity of the golden chain of Torah and the mitzvos. This is indeed one of the most important and most fundamental accomplishments, within Torah and the mitzvos themselves.

This goal and this accomplishment must arouse the keenest interest on the part of the Jews of the region. They must take in it the largest part. It is thus that they will obtain from Hashem an increased blessing and success.

I am therefore convinced that important accomplishments will flow from this banquet, in the material domain and, what is no less important, in the spiritual domain.

I hope that each of the participants will strengthen, on the occasion of this banquet, his enthusiastic bond with Torah and the mitzvos in general, and the fundamental activity that is good chinuch in particular. In conformity with the promise of our holy Torah, each one, with the members of his family, will draw from it blessing and success, material and spiritual, in his private life.

With my blessing for success,
