To my relative, the chassid* who fears Hashem,
scion of an illustrious family, Rav Shmuel Abba [1],
Greetings and blessings,
I was pleased to receive news of you through the rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem, Rav Pinchas Althuiz [2]. He also conveyed to me your precious gift, a mezuzah*, a besamim* box [3], a silver tray, and the sefer* [4] entitled "The Teaching of Rabbi Pinchas of Koritz." I thank you very much for these presents which evoke fond memories of the past and stir emotions from the depths of the neshamah*.
May Hashem grant that these feelings give birth to concrete action in daily life, for, as our chachamim* say, "the deed is the essential thing, and not the study."
I would be extremely grateful if you would kindly provide me with precise details concerning this mezuzah*, this besamim* box and this tray [4], although Rav Althuiz did say a few words to me about them. You have surely received my previous letter in due time.

נעם לי לקבל הפ"ש ממנו ע"י הרה"ח אי"א נו"נ כו' מוה"ר פנחס שי' אלטהויז, כן מסר לי תשורתו היקרה מזוזה קופסא של בשמים וטס של כסף, והספר "תורת רבי פנחס מקוריץ", ות"ח ת"ח על התשורות הללו המעוררים זכרונות ימי קדם ורגשות הבאות מקרב הנפש פנימה, ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר הרגישים האלו יהי' סיבה וגורם לענינים של פועל בחיים היום יומיים וכמרז"ל לא המדרש עיקר אלא המעשה עיקר.
א"ת אהי' לכת"ר שי' אם יכתוב בפרטיות אודות המזוזה הקופסא והטס של כסף הנ"ל, אף שמסר לי הרה"ח כו' אלטהויז שי' ר"פ בזה. מכתבי הקודם בטח קיבל בזמנו.
