Blessings and greetings,

Concerning your daughter who wishes to become engaged, you must obtain her assurance that she will firmly commit herself, when she finds a good match, to having a Jewish home, to keeping the laws of taharas hamishpachah*, to eating kosher* and to keeping Shabbos*.

When she fully commits to all this, Hashem will grant that she find a good match. You must not be ashamed to address all these subjects with your daughter once, then a second time or more, in a fitting manner, until she becomes convinced.

Hashem will help you, so that you may inform me of good news in this matter.
