To the rav, distinguished chassid* who fears Hashem

and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessings,

A) I duly received your letters of erev* Shabbos*, last day of Chanukah*, of 15, 24, and 29 Teves, with what was enclosed.

B) I took note with pleasure of what you describe, although in a concise manner, about the chassidic farbrengen* of 19 Kislev. It is unnecessary to recall the necessity of preparing the students so that one of them can recite a chassidic maamar* or, at least, an explanation of chassidus*, at such gatherings.

Likewise, you will form a choir, in an organized way, and all this will encourage the students [2]. Moreover, they will draw from it a spirit of friendly competition, and this will exercise the expected effect on the participants in these gatherings, who reside in the city or in its environs.

Perhaps it would be good, in the future, to announce in the local newspapers read by our brothers, the children of Yisrael*, that a chassidic farbrengen* will take place on such and such a date. A few lines will specify why it is being held.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתביו מעש"ק וזאת חנוכה, ט"ו כ"ד וכ"ט טבת עם המצורפים אליהם.

ב) נהניתי במ"ש עכ"פ בקיצור אודות התועדות י"ט כסלו, ובטח למותר לעוררו אשר כדאי להכין מבין התלמידים גופא כאלו שיחזרו מאמר או עכ"פ ענין של דא"ח בהתועדויות כמו אלו וכן לסדר קבוצת מנגנים מהם בסדר מסודר שבהנ"ל תהי' רוממות רוח להתלמידים, ובטח יעורר זה ביניהם ג"כ ענין דקנאת סופרים, וכן יעשה רושם המתאים על המתועדים מבין אנשי העיר והסביבה, ואולי כדאי הי' להעתיד להודיע במכ"ע דמקומו (אם ישנם כאלו הנקראים ע"י אחב"י) שביום פלוני תהי' התועדות וכו' ואיזה שורות בפרשת ההתועדות.
