Greetings and blessing,
I was told that your father studied Torah at Lubavitch. Now, the Mishnah* affirms that "the father makes the son acquire wisdom," and, in fact, it is legitimate that it be so, as the commentators of this text emphasize.
Effectively, nothing is more legitimate, in our era, than to recognize the absolute necessity of studying this wisdom, and you will consult, on this subject, Iggeres HaKodesh of the Alter Rebbe, on page 142b.
This must intervene in every situation with which man is confronted, in particular for those whose parents have already penetrated into the vineyard of the deep teaching of Torah. For, our Sages say, in tractate Shabbos 31a: "If the fear of Hashem is his treasure, it is good. But, if it is not the case…" It must therefore be so, in the most clear-cut manner and as quickly as possible.
May Hashem grant that you also be the channel through which this study spreads, moreover, among your friends and your surroundings.

... כפי שאמר לי... הנה אביו למד בליובאוויטש והרי ידוע פס"ד המשנה שהאב זוכה לבן בחכמה שהיא הסברא הישרה וכמבואר במפרשי המשנה שם, ואין לך סברא ישרה מזו, להכיר בההכרח הגמור בדורותנו אלה ללמוד זאת החכמה (עיין אגרת הקדש לרבנו הזקן דף קמ"ב ע"ב) שזה משפיע על כל מעמד ומצב האדם ובפרט של אלו שהוריהם כבר נכנסו בכרם פנימיות התורה שאז ציווי רז"ל (שבת ל"א סוף ע"א) אם יראת ד' אוצרו הן א"ל כו' הוא בהחלט ובהקדם והשי"ת יזכהו להיות ג"כ צנור אשר על ידו יתפשט לימוד זה גם בחביריו וסביבתו.
