Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of 19 Sivan.

It seems that the project concerning the women and the young women of Chabad has been abandoned, and I am surprised by it. It has been given to you, on various occasions, to observe Divine Providence, but, presumably, this has not marked you deeply.

In the present occurrence, it is not a question of a campaign conducted toward the outside, but indeed of an action that concerns the women and young women of Chabad, as well as their home, and not uniquely with the goal of making them go beyond the line of the Law.

This cannot be compared to the situation that prevailed in the country where we found ourselves previously. In that era, there was only one alternative: to offer one's life, on the right, or to reject everything, on the left. It is not the same at the present hour, and you must understand what I mean. Women are emotive, and it is therefore particularly important that the organization be done by men.

May Hashem accomplish, for what concerns His service, the terms of the verse: "He shall rule over you." For that, you must consecrate yourself, in the manner that befits, to this accomplishment. Quite obviously, this message addresses itself to all the Chassidim*. You have the right and even the merit to diffuse it, in the manner that befits.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ט סיון... כנראה אשר ענין נשי ובנות חב"ד נשתקע כו', ולפלא אשר לאחר כל אשר ראו בהשגחה פרטית כנראה עדיין לא חדרה ההכרה לפנימיותם אשר אין זהו רק ענין של תעמולה כלפי חוץ אלא שבעיקר נוגע לנשי ובנות חב"ד ולביתם ולא רק בענינים של הידור לחוד, ואין הדבר דומה להמצב כשהי' במדינתנו לפנים שאז היתה הברירה רק בשתי הקצוות או במס"נ לצד ימין או הפקירות לצד שמאל לגמרי משא"כ בהמצב עתה וד"ל. וכיון שנשים דעתם קלה הרי ביותר יש לתבוע לארגן זה מהאנשים ויה"ר שיקויים והוא ימשול בך במילי דשמיא שזה יבוא לאחרי שהענין יהי' נוגע להם כמו שצ"ל נוגע. מובן שכל הנ"ל כתוב לכל אנ"ש והרשות בידו וגם הזכות לפרסם באופן המתאים.
