I reply to your question. You ask me whether your parents must leave the place where they currently reside to go install themselves, in the Holy Land, in a kibbutz distanced from Jewish practice.

I am surprised by such a question. How can you envisage such an eventuality? You will consult attentively the terms of the Rambam, in his laws of opinions, at the beginning of chapter 6, who says: "One must bind oneself to the wise, install oneself near them, set oneself aside from the impious, go to a place where the men are righteous. If they are bad and corrupted, one will take refuge in the caves, the lairs, and the desert regions."

It is therefore very clear that it must not come to the spirit of one who finds himself in a place where one observes Torah and mitzvos* to go install himself in a kibbutz distanced from Jewish practice. He Who protects His people, Yisrael, in every time and in every place, Who "does not slumber," will guard your parents, within all the Jewish people, in an environment of fear of Hashem, of Torah and mitzvos*, for it is precisely there that the Presence of Hashem reveals itself.

For your part, you can reinforce all that, by redoubling in ardor in the study of the revealed part of Torah and Chassidus*, in the practice of mitzvos* in the best fashion, basing yourself on a pure faith.

במענה על שאלתו, בו שואל אם יסעו הוריו ממקומם עתה להסתדר בקבוץ חפשי באה"ק ת"ו, ופלא בעיני גם על הקס"ד בזה, ויעיין היטב בלשון הרמב"ם הלכות דיעות ריש פרק ו', צריך אדם להתחבר ולישב אצל החכמים כו' ויתרחק מן הרשעים כו' ילך למקום שאנשי' צדיקים כו' ואם הם רעים וחטאים כו' יצא למערות ולחוחים ולמדבריות, ועאכו"כ שהנמצא במקום שמנהגי' הוא ע"פ התורה והמצוה שאי אפשר לחשוב ע"ד העתקה לקבוץ חפשי, והשומר את עמו ישראל בכל עת ובכל מקום אשר לא ינום כו' ישמור את הוריו בתוך כל ישראל ודוקא בסביבה של יראת שמים תורה ומצוה אשר שם שכינתא שריא, והוא מצדו יכול להוסיף בזה ע"י הוספה בשקידה מסירה ונתינה בלימוד התורה הנגלית ותורת החסידות וקיום המצות בהידור מיוסדים כל הנ"ל על יראת שמים טהורה.
