To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs,

Greetings and blessing,
You knew how to address your letter to me so that it reach me an hour before I went to the tomb of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, and what comes in its time is positive. I therefore mentioned, there, your name and that of the members of your family, as you asked me in your letter.
Our Sages explain, in tractate Eruvin 41a, that "even after his death... the body follows the head," and you will consult what tractate Sotah 45b says on this matter. Therefore, in this month of his liberation (it is in Tammuz that the previous Rebbe was liberated from the Soviet prisons), it was said, at the Chassidic gathering of the Shabbos that blesses the new month, that one must pull a man from his prison if one wishes to liberate him from it. It is then his head that appears first. Then, the body follows it.
It is the same for the liberation of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, head and head of Yisrael. May Hashem therefore grant that, very soon, the body, including the heels, follow the head. You will consult on this subject tractate Nazir 51a and the responsa Tzofnas Pa'aneach of the Rogatchover Gaon, vol. 1, page 34.
It will then be the true and complete redemption.

ובחודש גאולה זה אשר מיוסד על מרז"ל הידוע לאחר פטירתו כו' בתר רישא גופא אזיל (ערובין מ"א א) - ולהעיר מסוטה מ"ה ב. - נדבר בהתועדות דש"ק מברכין העבר, אשר כשצריכים להוציא אדם מבית השבי, מושכין אותו ועולה תחלה ונגאל הראש ובתר רישא גופא אזיל. וה"ה בגאולת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר ראש ונשיא ישראל, יה"ר שבקרוב ממש בתרי' גופא אזיל, שגם העקביים בכלל (יעוין נזיר נ"א א. ושו"ת צפנת פענח להגאון מרגצוב ח"א, לד), בכלל זה בגאולה אמיתית והשלימה.
