Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of 1 Tammuz, in which you tell me that your entire family and that of your wife find themselves in Eretz Yisrael, may it be restored and rebuilt. Your parents wish to go there also and they propose to you to do the same. Your wife equally desires it.

You must assure yourself that, in installing yourself in Eretz Yisrael, you will be able to reside near persons who fear Hashem, study His Torah, and accomplish His mitzvos*. If you have this assurance, you will also commit yourself, of course without making a vow, to intensify your study of the revealed part of Torah and of Chassidus*, to practice the mitzvos* in an even better manner.

It is thus that you will prepare yourself to install yourself in the land "toward which always are turned the eyes of Hashem, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year."

May Hashem grant that you know success in all that and that you be able to announce good news to me,

במענה על מכתבו מא' תמוז בו כותב אשר כל משפחתו ומשפחת זוגתו נמצאים באה"ק ת"ו וגם הוריו חפצם לעלות שמה ומציעים גם לו שיעשה כזה וגם זוגתו תחי' חפצה זאת.

הנה עליו להבטיח שיוכלו להסתדר בעלותם ארצה בסביבה של אנשים חרדים לדבר ה' לומדי תורתו ומקימי מצותיו ואם יהי' בטוח בזה הרי עליו לקבל על עצמו (כמובן בלי נדר) תוספת בשיעורי לימוד בתורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות וכן תוספת בקיום המצות בהידור שזהו ישמש הכנה לעלייתו לארץ אשר עיני ה"א בה מראשית השנה עד אחרית שנה, ויה"ר שיצליח בכל זה ויוכל לבשר טוב.
