Greetings and blessing,
You ask me about the matter of covering the head of children.
You have doubtless seen an extract of a sichah* of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, concerning the first haircut (upshernish). One can deduce from it that children cover their head from that time, that is, from the age of three.
Nevertheless, numerous are those who do so even before that.
