Greetings and blessing,
I reply to your letter of 7 Tammuz, in which you announce to me that you have become engaged. May Hashem grant that this be in a good and propitious moment. You will build an everlasting edifice, based on Torah and mitzvos*, as they are illuminated by the luminary of Torah, which is the teaching of Chassidus*.
One proposes to you, after your marriage, which will take place in a good moment, to live in a room situated in a courtyard. The kitchen is distant from it and you point out that such a disposition is not modest, according to your fiancee. You ask me about this and you ask what I think of it.
The verse establishes that "the honor of the king's daughter is within." In this matter, one must therefore take her opinion into account and seek an apartment that suits her. And He Who provides for all expenses will also take charge of this one, since it is a question of putting His Will into practice by adopting modest conduct, in particular for what concerns Jewish women.
You will doubtless fix a study of Chassidus*, the deep teaching of Torah, which the holy Zohar calls "the soul of the Torah." This will give you an increased ardor to study the revealed part of Torah. May Hashem accord you success.

במענה על מכתבו מז' תמוז, בו כותב שבא בקשורי התנאים עם ב"ג תחי'. הנה יה"ר מהשי"ת שיהיו בשעה טובה ומוצלחת לבנין עדי עד על יסודי התורה והמצוה כפי שהם מוארים במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות.
ובמענה לשאלתו חוו"ד שלי באשר יש הצעה שלאחר החתונה בשעה טובה
ומוצלחת ידורו בחדר שיש לו בחצר והמטבח נמצא בחוץ רחוק מחדר שלו, אין זה מדרכי הצניעות לדעת ב"ג תי'.
הנה בענינים כמו אלו וע"פ הכתוב כל כבודה בת מלך פנימה יש להתחשב עם דעתה ולחפש דירה מתאימה, ומאן דיהיב לכל שאר ההוצאות יתן ג"כ על זה כיון שזהו למלאות רצונו בהענין דצניעות ועאכו"כ בהנוגע לבנות ישראל.
בודאי יקבע שיעור בלימוד החסידות פנימיות התורה הנקראת בזהר הק' נשמתא דאורייתא שאז נתוסף ג"כ תוספת חיות בלימוד דנגלה דתורה והשי"ת יצליחו.
