Greetings and blessing,

A) You write to me about what was not foreseen in the regulations applying to the teaching staff (of the Ohalei Yosef Yitzchak* Lubavitch network). Thus, the manner of dressing is, of course, very important, and not only for the higher grades, but also for the younger ones. One must pay particular attention to this.

Indeed, you know that in the time of the Tzemach Tzedek*, in a small town, a shochet* was dismissed from his duties because he had begun to wear boots. Now, it is clear that this is in no way forbidden by the Halachah*. Nevertheless, it is an outward manifestation showing what is happening on the inside. You must understand what I mean.

B) You propose to collect the various elements, found in the sichos*, that concern education and pedagogy. I am satisfied with this and may Hashem grant that one begin the work with all the appropriate energy. Obviously, these extracts must be translated into the language spoken in the Holy Land, while remaining close to the original to the fullest extent possible.

Perhaps it is feasible that this collection appear before the beginning of the next school year, so that other schools may also benefit from it. Obviously, this will have multiple advantages.

I hope that the cost will not be excessive, especially since it can be used, for example, in our schools in Morocco.

C) For various reasons, it would be good to indicate the reference of each extract, at the bottom of the page or at the end of the pamphlet.

D) Concerning the translation of the Sichos LaNoar* (from Yiddish into Hebrew; see, on this subject, letter no. 2826), one must contact Rav Shalom Chaskind, who is in contact, on this subject, with the Merkaz LeInyonei Chinuch*.

E) What is said above, concerning the collection of sichos*, on education, applies equally to the compilations of questions and answers from our students, although I have not yet decided whether to make of it an independent pamphlet or a specific section of the Sichos LaNoar*, published by the Merkaz LeInyonei Chinuch*.

... במ"ש אודות הענינים שלא נכללו בהערכת מורים/ות הנה תלבושת המורות נוגעת ביותר כמובן ולא רק בכתות הגבוהות אלא אפילו בכתות הנמוכות ויש לשום לב לזה ביותר ובפרט ע"פ המסופר שבעיירה אחת בימי הצמח צדק העבירו שו"ב ממשרתו בשביל שלבש קאלאשען, דפשיטא שאין איסור בלבישת קאלאשען אלא שהוא סימן חיצוני על הנעשה בפנים וד"ל...

ד) נהניתי מההצעה שיקבצו החומר המפוזר בהשיחות אודות עניני חנוך והדרכה והלואי שהי' נגשים לזה במרץ ומתאים, ומובן שצ"ל נעתק להשפה המדוברת באה"ק ת"ו (אף שיש לשמור על הקירוב להארגינאל עד כמה שאפשר), ואולי תהי' מציאות שיו"ל עוד קודם זמן התחלת לימודים הבע"ל ובאופן שגם בתי ספר אחרים יוכלו ליהנות מהם וכמה תועליות בדבר כמובן, אקוה אשר לא יהיו הוצאות יתר על המדה, ובפרט שהרי יוכלו להשתמש בזה בבתי ספר שלנו במרוקה וכו' וכו'.

ה) מפני כמה טעמים ראוי שיצוין ג"כ המקור ממנה נלקח הקטע, אם בשולי הגליון או בסוף החוברת.

ו) בענין התרגום של השמועסן יש לדבר עם הרב מוה"ר שלום שי' חסקינד כיון שגם הוא עומד בקשר בענין זה עם המל"ח.

ז) האמור לעיל בענין הלקוט מהשיחות הנה עד"ז הוא ג"כ בנוגע לליקוט השאלות ומענות של התלמידים ותלמידות דבתי ספרנו אף שעדיין לא נחלט אצלי אם להדפיס בחוברת בפ"ע או לפתוח מדור מיוחד בהשמועסן היו"ל ע"י המל"ח...
