Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter, which was not dated. You tell me that you are very satisfied with the place in which you have settled. Nevertheless, your salaries, for the time being, do not permit the satisfaction of your needs and this affects your morale.

I am surprised that it is so, after you have been witnesses to the kindnesses that Hashem has accomplished for you. Do you not have faith in what He can accomplish? Is it not absolutely certain that in the future, He will continue to bestow His kindnesses upon you and to deliver you from constraint?

Certainly, for reasons that escape us, this does not come about as quickly as we would have wished. But, only the Creator of the world knows the future and the true good, materially and spiritually. And, if this is so for those whose situation has declined relative to what it was previously, lower than that of their surroundings and friends, how much more so is this the case for those who have improved their situation.

During these difficult months, your state is doubtless better than that of many persons around you. In any case, you must not be in despair, Heaven forbid. You and your wife must not be demoralized and sad.

We have been able to see, to observe concretely, that the more a man has trust in Hashem, the more the prospect of his future fills him with joy and the more he hastens its positive realization.

I hope that you will soon gladden me by giving me good news of all of this, for yourself and for your wife.

במענה על מכתבו - בלי הוראת זמן הכתיבה - בו כותב אשר אף ששבעים רצון הם ממה שהעתיקו ל... אבל לע"ע המשכורת שלהם אינה מספיקה כ"כ להצטרכותם ופועל זה על מצב רוחו.

והנה לפלא עליו אשר לאחר שראו במוחש חסד ד' עמהם האומנם אין להם די אמונה ביכולתו שבודאי הגמור גם לעתיד ינחם בחסדיו ויוציאם מן המיצר ואף אם מטעמים אינם מובנים לנו מתאחר הדבר הרי רק בורא עולם היודע את העתיד ואת טוב האמיתי ביכולתו להחליט באיזה אופן טוב יותר בשביל האדם וב"ב להביאם לאשרם האמיתי הן בגשמיות והן ברוחניות, ואם אמור הדבר אפילו בנוגע לבני אדם שמצבם נפחת ממה שהי' לפני זה ופחות הוא ג"כ ביחס לסביבתם ומכיריהם הרי עאכו"כ שכן הוא ברור בהנוגע לאלו שמצבם הוטב לגבי העבר ובחדשים קשים האלו בודאי מצבו טוב ביחס לכו"כ בסביבתם אשר בכ"ז אין מתיאשים ח"ו ועאכו"כ שאין לו או לזוגתו שיחיו ליפול ברוחם ח"ו ולהתעצב וכבר ראינו ונוכחנו בפועל אשר ככל שתגדל מדת בטחונו של האדם והשקפתו מתוך שמחה על עתידו כך תוקדם הגשמת דברים אלו בהנוגע בפועל.

אקוה שבקרוב ישמחני בבשו"ט בכל הנ"ל הן בהנוגע לעצמו והן בהנוגע לזוגתו תחי'.
