Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of Wednesday of Parshas Mattos, in which you tell me that you do not earn your livelihood as you should and that you are in debt.

The conclusion of your letter, which lacks joy, contradicts its beginning, in which you describe what you have experienced and, according to your expression, the veritable miracles through which you survived and built a family.

You must therefore reason by way of a kal vachomer*. If Hashem was able to save you during those years, to grant you the success of building a Jewish home based on the Torah and the mitzvos*, how much more will He Who nourishes every being assure your sustenance and that of the members of your family.

All therefore depends on your trust in Hashem and on the manner in which you put into practice the mitzvah* of tzedakah*. The fact of placing oneself fully in His hands to assure one's own needs and those of the members of one's family is effective. It is even more so when it is accompanied by tzedakah*, concerning which Hashem says: "Please, put Me to the test in this matter" and "you shall tithe in order to become wealthy."

May Hashem grant you success so that you can give me good news of all of this.

You doubtless know the directive, applying to everyone, of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, to recite Tehillim* every day, after the prayer, according to their monthly division, and to learn, each day as well, a few verses of the Parshah* of the week, with the commentary of Rashi*.

Sending you my blessing for earning your livelihood, materially and spiritually, with breadth of spirit,

במענה על מכתבו מד' פרשת מטות, בו כותב אודות מצב פרנסתו שאינו כדבעי והנה[ו] בעל חוב כו' וכו'.

הנה סיום מכתבו בהעדר השמחה הוא בסתירה להתחלת המכתב שכותב את אשר עבר עליו ובלשונו ע"ד נסים ממש נשאר בין שארית הפליטה ובנה משפחה כו'.

וישא קל וחומר בעצמו, שאם הי' ביכולת השי"ת להצילו מהענינים דשנים שעברו ולהצליחו בבנין בית בישראל על יסודי התורה והמצוה, הרי על אחת כמה וכמה שהזן ומפרנס לכל ימציא לו פרנסתו ופרנסת בני ביתו, ואין הדבר תלוי אלא בבטחון ובמצות הצדקה, שבטחון הגמור שהשי"ת יפרנסו בהמצטרך לו ולב"ב כלפי שמיא מהני, ובפרט בצירוף הצדקה אשר הקב"ה מבקש ובחנוני נא בזאת שיהי' עשר בשביל שתתעשר.

והשי"ת יצליח שיבשר טוב בכל הנ"ל.

בטח יודע מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע השוה לכל נפש, לאמר תהלים בכל יום אחר תפלת שחרית - כפי שנחלק הת[ה]לים לימי החדש - וכן ללמוד בכל יום איזה פסוק חומש עם פירוש רש"י מהסדרה של השבוע.

בברכה לפרנסה בגשמיות ולפרנסה ברוחניות מתוך הרחבת הדעת.
