To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Betzalel (Rav B. Wilshanski; see, concerning him, letter no. 2650),

Greetings and blessing,

I thank you for your letter, in which you announce to me that a Neshei Chabad* association of women and girls has begun to be formed in your location. May Hashem grant that a radical change result from this, in every respect, for the Chassidic* women.

For this to be so, it is necessary, it seems, that a radical change occur in the conception of the Chassidic* men, who, it seems, have not understood the importance of all of this (of an organization for women), even though it is already established. In fact, there is indeed in this an effect of the intense darkness that characterizes our era.

May Hashem grant, in this month of mercy (Elul*), when the King, King of kings, HaKadosh Baruch Hu*, is in the field, that His presence in that place act upon those who are in the field. They will also be able to formulate their requests before the King and therefore be answered.

I enclose an excerpt of the sichah* of the Shabbos* that blessed the month of Elul* 5711 (1951, by the Rebbe himself). Its content is valid every year and throughout the year. You will doubtless diffuse it in the appropriate manner.

ת"ח על מכתבו שהותחל הענין דאגודת נשי ובנות חב"ד לזוז ממקומו ויה"ר שיהי' שינוי עיקרי ביחס נשי אנ"ש לכל הענין ושכדי שיהי' כן צריך כנראה שיעשה שינוי עיקרי ביחס אנשי חב"ד להענין שכנראה עדיין לא הונח (אפגעלייגט) אצלם נחיצות הדבר, ואף שכבר רואים במוחש אלא שגם זה הוא מההעלם והסתר דחשך כפול ומכופל דדורנו זה, ויה"ר שבפרט בחדש רחמים זה שהמלך מה"מ הקב"ה נמצא בשדה, הנה מציאות בשדה תפעול אפילו על אלו הנמצאים בשדה להגיש את בקשתם להמלך ובמילא למילוי בקשתם.
