I reply to your letter of Tuesday of Parshas Vaeschanan, in which you mention your project of creating reading and study books for children, in the Holy Land and outside of it.

You doubtless know that the Merkaz LeInyonei Chinuch* has assumed this role for several years already. You have surely seen the books that have already been published and are to be found among the Chassidim* in the Holy Land.

Furthermore, a branch of the Merkaz LeInyonei Chinuch* has been founded in the Holy Land, which disseminates these books and publishes local translations. It is unnecessary to specify that our means are very limited and do not even allow us to publish what is ready to be printed.

For all that, a religious literature based on sacred values is absolutely indispensable. The field of action is broad and whoever multiplies his action in this domain is worthy of praise. May Hashem grant you success.

במענה על מכתבו מג' ואתחנן, בו כותב ע"ד היזמה ליצור ספרות קריאה ולימוד עבור הנוער באה"ק ת"ו ובחו"ל.

הנה בודאי ידוע לו אשר ה"מרכז לעניני חנוך" עוסק בענין זה זה הרבה שנים, ובטח גם ראה הספרים שהוציאו לאור כבר ונמצאים אצל אנ"ש שי' באה"ק ת"ו. מלבד זה גם נוסף סניף מהמל"ח באה"ק ת"ו להפצת עניני דפוס אלה ולהוציא לאור על אתר תרגומים וכדו' מהספרות שלנו. ולמותר להוסיף אשר הקופה שלנו דחוקה ביותר ואין הקומץ משביע להו"ל כל הענינים אפילו אלה המוכנים כבר לדפוס אצלנו. מאידך גיסא מובן מאליו הצורך החיוני בספרות חרדית על טהרת הקדש, והשדה רחב, וכל המרבה בזה הרי זה משובח, והשי"ת יצליחם.
