To our friend, remarkable young man, Rabbi Menachem Zeev Gringlass, Montreal,

I greet you and bless you,

I will respond, in the order of the questions, to your letters from the day after Sukkos and from last Wednesday:

A) The brochures you requested have been sent to you. I am surprised that you did not order a larger number of alphabets and calendars [1]. The latter, in particular, has been very successful and is in great demand.

B) It seems that Rabbi N.K. has not yet arrived here.

C) Our friend, Rabbi I.D. transmitted to me your request that we send you ten collections of everything that was printed in Warsaw, as well as the Likkutei Torah*. Each bound collection costs four American dollars. In accordance with your letter, I am waiting for someone to make the trip. If you prefer a postal shipment, let me know.

D) The Seder Berachos U'Tefillos* is a pamphlet containing the Grace After Meals (Birkas Hamazon*) and its English transcription. It is corrected and precise, but it is not a Siddur*. It is currently in press and will appear shortly, with the help of Hashem.

E) I enclose a letter from the committee for the Sefer Torah* [2]. It was decided here that the participation for the writing of each letter would be set at one dollar, at least, except for those who do not have the means or do not wish to.

F) We are surprised that you are having difficulties transferring money here. The law permits everyone to send, from their country of origin, twenty-five Shekels [3]. A prompt shipment, especially concerning the Sefer Torah, would be greatly appreciated.

G) It would be good to intervene so that Rabbi N.D. Denberg purchases letters of the Sefer Torah, for himself and for the members of his family. He will give his financial participation for this purchase, with a genuine effort on his part, for expenses are numerous. But it is clear that one cannot discuss this subject with just anyone. You will also approach all those who are likely to lend their support, such as, for example, the Albert brothers.

H) The talks of the Rebbe delivered on Shemini Atzeres* and Simchas Torah* have not yet been transcribed. I enclose those of Shabbos Bereishis*, but they have not yet been corrected, and please return them to me.

J) Rabbi T. Pliskin, when he was here, promised me to participate in all the activities of Merkaz L'Inyonei Chinuch and Machane Yisrael in your country, on condition that he be told what to do. He will surely draw closer, himself and all the members of his family, to these activities if you entrust him with such a mission.

במענה על מכתביו מא"ח ומיום ד' שה"ע, על ראשון כו'

א) כל עניני דפוס שבקש נשלח לו. ולפלא שלא הזמין מספר תר גדול הרבה מה"אלף-בית" והלוח. ובפרט - האחרון שעשה רושם כביר והרבה קופצים עליו.

ב) הרנ"ק שי' כנראה עדיין לא בא לכאן.

ג) מהנדפס מאז בורשא, וכן הלקו"ת - שמסר לנו ידידנו הרי"ד שי' שבקשו לשלוח להם עשרה סעט. מחיר כל סעט - מכורכים - ארבעה דולר דכאן - הנה ע"פ מכתבו, מחכים להזדמנות דנוסע. אם רצונם בשילוח ע"י פוסט מטובו להודיע.

ד) סדר ברכות ותפלות הוא בענצ'רל - עם העתק אנגלי - מוגה ומדויק, ולא סדור, ונמצא לע"ע בדפוס, ובקרוב יופיע אי"ה.

ה) מוסג"פ מכ' מועד הס"ת. בכלל נקבע פה סכום ההשתתפות בהוצאות הכתיבה לכה"פ דולר אחד לכל אות (מלבד לאלו שאין יכולים או שאינם רוצים).

ו) פליאה בעינינו שמתקשים בשלוח כסף לכאן, כיון שע"פ החוק כאו"א יכול לשלוח ממדינתם עד כ"ה שקל. וההקדם בשלוח, ובפרט בהשייך לס"ת, ישובח מאד.

ז) מהראוי אשר ישתדלו שהרנ"ד שי' דענבערג ירשום א"ע וכב " ב שי' בהס"ת.

וישתתף בהוצאות הס"ת כראוי שיהי' לפום גמלא שיחנא, כי ההוצאות רבות, וכמובן אשר לא עם כ"א מדברים בזה, וד"ל. והוא הדין בהשתדלות עם אחרים השייכים לזה, כמו האחים אלבערט וכו'.

ח) שיחת שמע"צ ושמח"ת עדיין לא נסדרה. ומוס"פ, ע"מ להחזיר , שיחת ש"פ בראשית ואינה מוגה .

ט)....

י) בהיות הר"צ שי' פליסקין פה, הבטיח לי השתתפותו בכל עניני מל"ח ומחנ"י במדינתם, ובלבד שיאמרו לו מה עליו לעשות. ובודאי יתקרב גם הוא עצמו וביתו לכל ענינים אלו עי"ז שיתעסק בעבודה זו.
