To my close relative, the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav Shneur Zalman (Rav Sh. Z. Bespalov; see, concerning him, letter no. 1943),

Greetings and blessing,

I was given the letter you wrote to Kehot Publications, which contained accounts of the great Rav and Chassid*, the Tzaddik*, Rabbi Hillel of Paritch (one of the great Chassidim* of the Mitteler Rebbe* and then of the Tzemach Tzedek*). It would be good, indeed, for you to put in writing what you remember and the testimonies of the history of the Chassidim* and of Chassidus* that you surely retain in your memory, having heard them in your home and in Lubavitch.

You doubtless also remember the names of the persons from whom you heard these accounts and to what extent they are trustworthy. You know how much my father-in-law, the Rebbe, valued the transmission of an idea or a story in a precise manner, including also the details that seem unimportant, such as the context or the persons present.

I am sending you, enclosed herewith, one of our very latest publications, which will surely interest you.

With my blessing that you be inscribed and sealed for a good year,

נמסר לי מכתבו לקה"ת ובו הסיפורים אודות הרה"ג הרה"ח והרה"צ הר"ה מפאריטש. ומה טוב יהי' אם יעלה על הכתב מזכרונותיו הנ"ל, ומזכרונותיו בדברי ימי החסידים והחסידות, שבטח שמורים בזכרונו, בכלל - אשר בודאי שמע הרבה בביתם ובליובאוויטש וכו'. ובטח שמורים ג"כ בזכרונו שמות האנשים מהם שמע ודרגת הסמכות שלהם. וכבר ידוע עד כמה הי' מייקר כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר מסירת ענין או סיפור לכל פרטיו, ואפילו פרטים שלכאורה הם חיצונים, היינו באיזה מעמד ומצב, מי הי' נוכח וכו'.

מוסג"פ מההוצאה הכי אחרונה שבטח תעניין את כת"ר שי'.
