Greetings and blessing,
I reply to your letter in which you tell me of your difficulties due to the fact that your speech precedes your thought, that is to say, that you are not reflective.
As you know, a saying of the Alter Rebbe*, author of the Tanya* and Decisor of the hidden part of the Torah, author of the Shulchan Aruch* and Decisor of the revealed part of the Torah, comments on the verse: "And, you will be lost quickly from the good land that Hashem gives you." He compares the will and the desire to serve Hashem in general and to study the Torah in particular to a "good land" and states that one must "lose the quickness" and the haste that one may have in this matter. One must study the Torah calmly, cause one's soul to find its delight in Hashem, as the Sefer HaSichos* 5700, page 59, explains.
If you meditate upon all of this a few times, it will doubtless be easier for you to overcome what you describe and to study the Torah methodically.
May Hashem cause that you have the desire to learn the revealed part of the Torah and Chassidus* with enthusiasm and self-sacrifice, to put into practice the mitzvos* in the best possible manner and to begin to pray with fervor.

במענה על מכתבו שכותב שסובל מזה שדבורו קודם הוא למחשבתו, היינו שאינו מיושב.
והנה כבר ידוע פתגם רבנו הזקן בעל התניא - פוסק בנסתר דתורה - והשולחן ערוך - פוסק בנגלה דתורה - על הכתוב ואבדתם מהרה מעל הארץ הטובה אשר ה' נותן לכם, כי הרצון והחשק בעבודת ה' (בכלל ולימוד התורה בפרט) הרי זה ארץ טובה, וצריך להיות, ואבדתם מהרה, לאבד את המהירות והחפזון בזה וללמוד בנעימה לענג הנשמה בנועם ה' - ראה ספ[ר] השיחות שנת ת"ש עמוד נ"ט - וכשיתבונן בזה איזה פעמים בודאי יוקל עליו לתקן את הנ"ל וללמוד בהתיישבות.
והשי"ת יתן לו החשק ללמוד במסירה ונתינה הן בתורת הנגלה והן בתורת החסידות ולקיים את המצות בהידור ולהתחיל בעבודת התפלה.
