To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, great scholar of vast knowledge and profound comprehension, the Rav Reuven (Rav R. Margolis; see, concerning him, letter no. 1049),

Greetings and blessing,

I duly received the brochure entitled "The Rambam* and the Zohar*" that you honored me by sending. It has been composed in the manner of your previous works (with the same quality) and provides cross-references within the Torah (literally, "furnishes handles to the Torah"), linking the threads together and connecting the words of our Sages so as to enlighten those who study the Torah by providing them with references.

Even more, you have chosen the Zohar*, which was truly neglected in this area (in the search for references linking it to other texts), and you will surely continue on this path. May Hashem grant you success, in order to adorn and embellish the Torah.

On this occasion, I will also note a few points concerning an explanation you give in your "Sparks on the Zohar Chadash*," a work that reached me some time ago, and in which one can observe the improvement compared to the "Sparks on the Zohar*." You will honor me by also sending the other books you have published this year, aside from the Sefer HaBahir* and the Zohar Chadash*, which I already possess, as I mentioned.

As is my custom, I enclose several remarks (these comments of the Rebbe have not reached us) with this letter.

On the occasion of the new year, which approaches, for us and for all Israel, for good and for blessing, I send you my wishes that you be inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year and know success in all your accomplishments.

בנועם מאשר הנני קבלת החוברת הרמב"ם והזהר שכבדני בה, אשר כמעשהו בראשונים כן מעשהו בחוברת זו לעשות אזנים לתורה ע"י קישור חבל בחבל ומרז"ל במרז"ל להאיר עיני הלומדים ע"י מראה מקומות, ובפרט שלקח לו ספר הזהר שהי' מוזנח בענינים אלו ביותר, ובודאי גם על להבא ימשיך בזה. ויה"ר שחפץ ה' בידו יצליח להגדיל תורה ולהאדירה.

ובהזדמנות זו הנה אדגיש ג"כ במה שהוסיף תושי' בניצוציו בזהר חדש שהגיעני מכבר שניכר בהם שיפור לגבי ניצוציו על הזהר, ובטח יכבדני ג"כ בשאר ספריו שהו"ל בשנה האחרונה לבד ספר הבהיר וזהר חדש שהגיעוני וכנ"ל.
