To my close relative, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, of illustrious lineage, the Rav Shmuel Abba (Rav Sh. A. Shapiro; see, concerning him, letters no. 2896, 3064, and 3274),
Greetings and blessing,
I come today, by the present letter, to thank you and to announce good news to you. Indeed, the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Binyamin Eliyahu Gorodetsky, brought here the Sefer Torah* (which belonged to the two brothers, printers of Slavita, and was given to the Rebbe; see, on this subject, letters no. 2896 and 3064, as well as the Sefer Yechidei Segulah, pages 272 to 275), two days before Rosh Hashanah*. On the day of Rosh Hashanah*, I was called to its reading, in order to recite the Haftarah* of the festival. Be therefore reassured, as I was myself.
May Hashem cause that each of us bring pleasure to the other and do so in good health and in joy.
With my thanks and my blessing, that you be definitively sealed for a good year,

שלום וברכה!
איש תודה ובשורה אנכי היום להודיע אשר הרה"ח אי"א נו"נ עוסק בצ"צ מוה"ר בנימין אלי' שי' גאראדעצקי הביא את הספר תורה, כיומים לפני ראש השנה, וביום ראש השנה עליתי בה לתורה למפטיר היום, ותנוח דעת כבודו כמו שהניח את דעתי.
ויה"ר מהשי"ת לזכות את כל אחד מאתנו לגרום נחת רוח איש לרעהו ולעשות את זה מתוך בריאות הנכונה ומתוך שמחה.
