I bless you and greet you extensively,

We (this letter was addressed by the Rebbe to several women or women's organizations) are currently living the Ten Days of Teshuvah*, about which the prophet says: "Seek Hashem while He can be found. Call upon Him when He is near" — even more so than during the rest of the year. Consequently, I wish to add these few lines to the letter I wrote to you previously (see letter no. 2869).

Thank Hashem, the Chassidim* have recently adopted certain customs and practices that they did not observe in the past, for various reasons.

It is easy to question a behavior that is new in a certain place. Whoever contributes to strengthening it therefore acquires considerable merit. Moreover, it is easier to convince oneself to do so, even if one has not truly measured its importance, by telling oneself that one does not act solely in a personal capacity, but that one can thereby convince several other people to do the same.

Regardless, then, of why it has been difficult until now to establish certain practices in Chassidic* homes, whether it concerns the manner of dressing or the education of children, I wish to remind you that henceforth, all women without any exception must emulate the Chassidic* women who wear wigs (see letters no. 2637, 3053, 3151, 3171, and 3266), give their children a true Chassidic* education, and have a Chassidic* home, down to the smallest detail.

May Hashem cause that you become aware of the truth, that you perceive that all of this is not so difficult, that there is no reason to feel shame about it, Heaven forbid. On the contrary, you must be proud of it.

How does one have the necessary determination not to feel shame? By ensuring that, when one walks in the street, friends and acquaintances can recognize a Jewish woman who applies the Law of Moshe and of Israel, does not seek to hide it, is proud of it, and instills in her children the conviction that they are different from all other nations, that they received the Torah, Torah of life, which is the very foundation of their education.

It is only after having laid the foundations of an edifice and having reinforced them for a certain time, without being distracted or troubled by other studies, that one can think about the subsequent phases of education.

May the merit of taking a firm resolution in this matter, with all one's heart and with joy, and then applying it immediately in one's life, bring about — and Hashem will cause it to be so — that you be definitively sealed, as well as all of yours, for a good year, on the sacred days of Hoshana Rabbah* and Shemini Atzeres* which are approaching.

זכרונם לברכה ,מעלין בקודש -לשגשג בעבודת הקודש ,בפרט עבודה

קדושה כזו ,כחינוך הכשר על טהרת הקדש של בתי הספר בית רבקה.

בפרשת השבוע ובפרשיות הבאות ,מספרת לנו התורה הק׳ את אשר

אירע עם אבותינו ואמותינו .החכמים ,זכרונם לברכה ,אומרים ש״מעשה

אבות סימן לבנים״ .בזה נכלל ,מטבע הדברים ,גם מה שאירע עם

האמהות שלנו ,שרה ,רבקה ,רחל ולאה .נסיונותיהן והתמסרותן להעמיד

דורות של ילדים יהודיים נאמנים ,בני ובנות אברהם ,יצחק ,יעקב ,שרה,

רבקה ,רחל ולאה -הם סימן ולימוד לכל הנשים היהודיות ,בפרט עבור

נשות דורנו .ההוראה המעשית מכך היא ,שכאשר נראה שישנם קשיים,

או אפילו הפרעות ,הרי זה דבר ודאי ,שאלו הם רק נסיונות ,שהקב״ה

מעמיד בפני יהודי ,כדי לעורר אצלו ,או אצלה ,כוחות יותר גדולים,

ואפילו כחות נעלמים כדי להתגבר על הקשיים ,שנועדו מלכתחילה כדי

להתגבר עליהם .נדרש רק רצון חזק ,כי הקב״ה כבר נתן לפני זה את

הכוחות הנחוצים לכך ,שכל אחד ואחת ימלא את שליחותו/ה .מובן

מאליו שמילוי השליחות הוא הזכות הגדולה ביותר והאושר האמיתי

לכל או״א בפרט ,הם ובני משפחתם ,ולהתברך מהשם יתברך מידו

המלאה ,בגשמיות וברוחניות ,בכל המצטרך.
