I bless you and greet you,

I reply to your letter of the eve of Yom Kippur* and you have surely received mine, wishing you a good year.

You know the proverb of our holy masters, according to which "one action is preferable to a thousand complaints." Intensify, then, in a concrete manner, your study of Torah, of its revealed part and of Chassidus*, as well as your practice of the mitzvos*, in the best manner.

For if a single action has a positive effect, how much more so is this the case for several actions. Obviously, to enliven all of this, you must, from time to time, participate in a Chassidic* gathering.

May Hashem grant you success.

N.B.: You ask the meaning of the expression Bnei Maron (which appears in the liturgy of Rosh Hashanah* and Yom Kippur*: "all the creatures of the world pass before You like Bnei Maron"). You will consult, on this subject, the tractate Rosh Hashanah 18a and the commentary of Rashi* on that same reference ("the soldiers of the king, holding power, whom one can count as they go out to battle, one after the other").

You say in your letter that you are being offered a position in Albany. It would be good for you to contact the Shochet* of that city, the Rav Issar Brickman.
