To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav Avraham Tzvi (Rav A. Tz. Weinstein, of London),

Greetings and blessing,

I wish to express all my thanks for your gift, your book Shaarei HaMitzvos, which I duly received through the intermediary of the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, the Rav Shalom Dov Ber Raskin, the Shochet* (of London).

May Hashem cause you to devote your strength to the Torah, in order to adorn and embellish it with signs and markers (which were presumably the content of this book), which will be "handles" for the Torah (enabling one to better grasp it). If, already in the early generations, which were compared to angels, these were particularly useful, as various texts of our Sages establish, how much more so are they for the later generations and especially for the very last one.

I seize this opportunity to thank you for the help you bring to the Chassidim* who are refugees, exercising the function of Shochet*. I am grateful to you for what you have already done and appreciate your continuing to bring them your help in all domains, to the extent of your abilities.

I am convinced that you will indeed do so, but one counsels haste to those who naturally possess this trait, and one does so solely to invite them to accentuate it.
