Greetings and blessing,

I received your letter with pleasure. It is quite evident that you may write to me in Yiddish. In fact, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, used to say that "what one carries in the deepest part of one's heart is expressed in Yiddish." He thus explained the fact that the end of Iggeres HaKodesh*, at page 163a of the Tanya*, is precisely in Yiddish: "Gevald, gevald (terrible, terrible)."

What matters above all is that the content of your letter be joyful. Certainly, you are not satisfied with your physical and moral situation. But, as you know, it suffices to make an opening like the point of a needle to receive the help of Hashem, Who opens the equivalent of the gate of the Sanctuary, which was twenty cubits by forty.

May Hashem cause that you act thus, with joy and in good health, spiritual and material.

Your donation has been transmitted to the fund for visiting the sick. May this merit enable you to obtain a speedy recovery, good health, good days, and long years.

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו... ומובן שיכול לכתוב לי באידיש, וכמו שהי' כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר אומר, אז טיף הארציקע זאגען זיך ארויס אין אידיש, ובזה הסביר אשר בתניא באגרת הקודש בסופו דף קס"ג ע"א, הנה לאחרי התעוררות שכותב רבנו הזקן הנה אומר גוואלד גוואלד דוקא באידיש, והעיקר שתוכן המכתב יהי' שמח, וזה שלא שבע רצון מהמצב בגשמיות וברוחניות הרי ידוע אז מען עפענט א עפענונג אפילו נאר כחודו של מחט הנה עוזר השי"ת ופותח כפתחו של אולם שהי' עשרים על ארבעים אמה, והשי"ת יעזר שיעשה את זה מתוך שמחה ובריאות הנכונה הן ברוחניות והן בגשמיות.

נדבתו נמסרה לקופת בקור חולים וזכות זה יעמוד לו לרפואה קרובה ובריאות ולאריכות ימים ושנים טובות.
