Greetings and blessing,

I duly received your request for blessing, which was transmitted to me by the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem, devotes himself to communal needs, and multiplies positive accomplishments. I will therefore mention your name near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us.

Certainly, Hashem grants success comparable to the gate of the Sanctuary, but man must, for this, open for Him the equivalent of the point of a needle. How much more so is this the case when it concerns improving one's own conduct, which is the essential purpose of the soul when it descends "from a lofty summit to a deep pit."

You will study, with all necessary attention, chapter 32 of the holy Tanya* and the mitzvah* of love of one's fellow in the Sefer HaMitzvos of the Tzemach Tzedek*, until you know by heart at least its content. Thus, it will be easier for you to fight against your evil inclination, to modify your conduct, to find success in your study of the Torah with integrity, with fear of Hashem.
