Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of Sunday of Parshas Lech Lecha.

I was surprised, upon reading it, to note that you have lived in Russia since 5675 (1915) and that you have, since then, remained in contact with the Chassidim*, but that despite all of this, you have not yet adopted the Siddur* of the Arizal* (the Chabad Nusach*), as your letter indicates. Now, you know that this is one of the ten merits claimed by the Alter Rebbe*. I therefore do not understand your doubts regarding the attitude you must adopt in the future. It is clear that your prayer must be formulated according to the rite of the Arizal*.

You also ask me about the study that precedes the prayer. That of Chassidus* is indeed necessary. Regarding that of the revealed part of the Torah, you will consult the Likkutei Torah*, Devarim, page 96b.

As you request, I will mention all the names you cite near the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, so that each one obtain the satisfaction of his needs, and obviously, so that your son marry. One must attend to this energetically, and when one does so, one receives the help of Hashem.

במענה למכתבו מד׳ שמות . . .בנוגע לבנו שי׳ שסבור שע״י זה

שיכניס אותו לחדר שיש בו פחות יראת שמים אבל האויר שם טוב יותר,

בריאותו תתחזק ,ומאוחר יותר עם הזמן יחזיר אותו לחדר בו הוא לומד

עתה .אין זה מוצא חן בעיני ,משום שזה שינתק אותו עתה הוא ודאי,

והאם אחר כך יחזיר אותו והאם הוא יוכל להשלים את אשר החסיר,

הוא ספק ,וספק גדול .וביודעי מה שכתוב בספרים בכלל ובספרי

חסידות בפרט על הפסוק יראת ה׳ לחיים ,שמיראת שמים מיתוסף

בבריאות ,הרי גם אם שם האויר טוב יותר ,ההוספה ביראת שמים

בחדר הנוכחי בו הוא לומד ,תשלים גם את הבריאות הגשמית של בנו,

ולכן שימשיך מתוך בריאות ושמחה ללמוד תורה ביראת שמים בחדר

זה ,והנני מקוה שכאשר יקרא לפני זוגתו תחי׳ את החלק הזה של

מכתבי ,גם היא תסכים לזה בכל מאת האחוזים ,בידיעה שבריאות

פרנסה והצלחה תלויים רק בהשם יתברך נותן התורה.

על שאלתו ,על מה לתת את הצדקה שלו ,שמחתי לקרוא במכתבו

שעוזר לאחיו באה״ק ת״ו .ובכלל ■,מחצית מהצדקה יש לחלק למוסדות

של כ״ק מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע ,וביכולתו לעשות זאת

ע״י המזכירות שלי שיחולק שם ,והחצי השני לחלק בעצמו וגם ע״י

זוגתו תחי׳ ,ובזה נכלל גם העזר עבור אחיו שי׳.
