I was pleased to receive your letter of 3 Cheshvan*, which followed an interruption. You describe to me, in an extremely concise manner, your work among the military personnel in recent weeks. Doubtless, in the future, your letters will be more detailed.

Perhaps it would be good for you to announce, at the end of your lectures, that those who wish can establish contact with here, in order to obtain the clarification they need. Obviously, one must ensure that this is not linked to a fundraising campaign. Likewise, you will make this announcement on your own initiative and not as a mission entrusted to you from here. You will specify only that you know several people who proceed in this manner and receive answers, even if these sometimes arrive with delay.

If you deem it appropriate, you may give a Tanya* to those among the soldiers who distinguish themselves by their Jewish practice. Furthermore, you will also give a Tanya* at each military camp, for the meeting hall or the library, insofar as such facilities exist in the appropriate location.

I am surprised that you do not mention the state of health of your wife. Without a doubt, all is well in this regard.

You will find, below, the list of the Machanayim brochures in our possession.

For the time being, I have not yet received brochures no. 1 to 26.

אחרי ההפסק, נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מג' חשון, בו כותב אף כי בקיצור נמרץ ביותר, אודות הפעולות בין אנשי הצבא בשבועות שעברו, ובודאי בעתיד יכתוב בפרטיות יותר.

(אולי יש מקום לאמר, לאחרי הרצאותיו - שהרוצים יכולים לבוא בקישור מכתבים לכאן לבירור איזה שאלה המבלבלת כו'. ומובן שעל אתר צריך ג"כ להבטיח (באווארענען) שאין בזה מקום למגבית כספים וכו'. מובן ג"כ שכל זה צריך להעשות על דעת עצמו, ולא בתורת שליחות מכאן, ורק לאמר שיודע מכמה אנשים שמתנהגים כזה, ואף שלפעמים מתעכב המענה, אבל מקבלים המענה, וכן) אם ימצא לנכון, לתת תניא לאיזה המצטיינים באיזה ענין של יהדות וכו' מבין אנשי הצבא, נוסף על נתינות תניא במחנה למועדונים או להספרי' של אנשי הצבא, אם יש מוסדות כאלו במקום המתאים.

לפלא שאינו מזכיר דבר ע"ד בריאות זוגתו תי' ובטח הכל בסדר ובשלום.
