Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of 11 Cheshvan*, in which you inform me of your difficulties in earning your livelihood. You attribute this situation to the importance of the initial investment that is necessary in the agricultural domain.

This assertion is difficult to accept, for in many cases in the Holy Land one can adopt an agricultural activity without any initial investment. I am surprised that you do not see the truth that I have already written, on many occasions, to the inhabitants of the Kfar* (Kfar Chabad*). In accordance with the proverb (see, on this subject, letter no. 2844) of the Tzemach Tzedek*, Alef* and Beis* are the initials of Achdus*, unity, and Berachah*, blessing. The more one strengthens unity — not only material but also spiritual — the greater the blessing of Hashem will be, not only materially but also spiritually. And the fact that it is so difficult to unite is further proof that the problem lies there.

It is quite obvious that I am not alluding to you personally, but in a general manner to everything concerning the Kfar* and therefore to every individual who constitutes it. It therefore does not seem to me that you should dispose of what the Jewish Agency gave you (to adopt this agricultural activity), especially since the difficult years have passed and are already behind you.

במענה למכתבו מי״א חשון ,בו כותב שמצב הפרנסה קשה והוא

תולה זאת בכך שלחקלאות נדרש הרבה כסף וכו׳.

אבל זה כלל לא מובן ,כי במקרים רבים באה״ק ת״ו ,מסתדרים

בחקלאות אפילו ללא כסף .והוא פלא שלא רואים את האמת ,מבלי

הבט על כך שכבר כתבתי פעמים רבות לאנשי הכפר בכללות ,אשר

כפתגם הצמח צדק אל״ף בי״ת אחדות ברכה ,וככל שתגדל האחדות לא

רק בענינים רוחניים אלא גם בענינים גשמיים כך תלך ותגדל ברכת

השי״ת לא רק בענינים גשמיים אלא גם בענינים רוחניים .וזה גופא

שלהגיע לאחדות קשה ,הוא הוכחה נוספת ,שבזה המדובר.

מובן מאליו שאין רצוני להדגיש ]זאת[ בנוגע אליו בפרט ,אך זה

נוגע בעניני הכפר בכללות ,ובמילא זה נוגע לכל פרט מהכלל .ולכן לא

נראה לי שיחסל את מה שקיבל מהסוכנות וכו׳ ובפרט לאחר שכבר עברו

השנים הקשות והן כבר מאחוריו . . .
