To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Yisrael Abba (Rav I. A. Pliskin; see, concerning him, letter no. 1326),

Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of 19 Marcheshvan*. I took note with satisfaction of the development of the Yeshivah* (in Melbourne, Australia). Another point, which is essential: it must become a central location for everything concerning Jewish values, in conformity with the Tradition and illuminated by the luminary of the Torah — that is, by the teaching of Chassidus* (see, on this subject, letter no. 3000). It must not be limited solely to what is directly connected to the Yeshivah*.

It is therefore in this place that all the classes will be established. It is there that visitors will be encouraged to acquire the fear of Hashem. One will gather there whenever necessary to address communal problems related to the fear of Hashem. Obviously, the Chassidic* gatherings will be held there as well, including in the presence of those who, at present, do not yet belong to the community of the Chassidim*. This will be the case for the gatherings of Kislev*, month of the liberation — the 10th (that of the Mitteler Rebbe*) and the 19th (that of the Alter Rebbe*). Without a doubt, all of this will meet with success.

You ask me in what manner your daughter Rivkah can exert an influence on her friends. She was educated in a Chassidic* family and, in this capacity, she possesses knowledge that many of her friends do not have. There are no doubt also younger girls, and she will know how to bring them closer to Jewish practice in general. With the appropriate reflection, I hope you will know how to guide her properly in this matter. May Hashem grant you success.

במענה על מכתבו מי"ט מ"ח. הנה נהניתי ממ"ש אודות התפתחות עניני הישיבה ונקודה נוספת בזה והיא עיקרית שצריך שבנין הישיבה יהי' מקום מרכזי לכל עניני יהדות על טהרת הקדש מוארה במאור שבתורה זוהי תורת החסידות, ולאו דוקא עניני הישיבה. היינו ששם ילמדו כל השיעורים ויעוררו הבאים ע"ד ענינים של יר"ש. יתאספו שם לעתים הדרושים לדון ע"ד עסקי צבור הקשורים ביר"ש שונים כו' וכו'. ובודאי ובפשיטות שיערכו בבנין זה התועדות של אנ"ש ואפילו של אלו שלע"ע אינם בתוככי עדת אנ"ש בימי סגולה דחדש כסלו יו"ד וי"ט כסלו חדש הגאולה ובודאי יהי' בהצלחה.

מ"ש אודות בתו רבקה תחי' באיזה אופן תשפיע על חבירותי' הנה בטח כמחונכת מבית חסידותי יש לה ידיעות כאלו שאינן ידועות לחלק מחברותי'. כן בטח ישנן ילדות שהן צעירות ממנה ובמילא יש מקום להשפעת[ה] עליהן גם בעניני יהדות בכלל.

ובהתבוננות המתאימה אקווה שיורה אותה הענינים והדרכים בזה והשי"ת יצליחו.
