29 Marcheshvan* 5715,
Brooklyn.

To the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, the Rav Aharon HaLevi (Rav A. Popack, of Philadelphia), and to his wife, the Rebbetzin* Chana,

Greetings and blessing,

I received with pleasure your letter and also your greetings through the intermediary of the Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav Ben Tzion Shem Tov, emissary of the Sages (see, concerning him, letter no. 2979). I hope that upon observing what the energy you have shown until now has enabled you to develop, you will arouse within yourselves new strengths, which will enable you to do even more in the future. You will do so, moreover, with joy, which enables one to be far more effective.

I took note with particular satisfaction of what you say in your letter regarding the efforts made (see, on this subject, letter no. 3066) for family purity and the creation of a women's committee in this matter. May Hashem cause its activity to be serious and energetic, as is fitting in this domain. In this way, success will be certain.

You must ensure that this committee not have a political character, that it be unrelated to the Agudah* or the Mizrachi*, which would prevent many women from becoming members. Now, it is capital that the number of members and active participants be as large as possible.

With my blessing,
