Greetings and blessing,

I received, in due time, your telegram in which you inform me that you have returned safely (following the visit of Rav N. Nemanov to the Rebbe for the month of Tishrei*), then your letter of Rosh Chodesh* Kislev*, as well as the preceding one. I thank you for the good news you convey to me therein.

May Hashem grant that the word of the Rebbe Maharash* — "it will go from good to better" — be fulfilled, very soon, in the one you mention, and that he have good days and long years. The same will also apply to the good news he will be able to announce.

I had told you, before your departure, that one should not exert pressure on him regarding the fear of Heaven (due to the illness of this person). Indeed, "the Torah* gave the physician permission to heal" and it therefore infuses him with the strength to do so. Consequently, the physician establishes a prescription by the force of the Torah*. But, upon reading your letter, I am somewhat surprised to note that one is not paying attention to all of this (that such pressures are indeed being exerted).

Without a doubt, what will result from this will be only good. Nevertheless, it is not appropriate to act in this manner. In the future, at least, one will adhere to the physician's prescriptions in this matter.

שלום וברכה!

בעתו נתקבל המברק מביאתו שלום, ואח"כ מכתבו מר"ח כסלו והקודם לו, ות"ח על הבשו"ט אשר בו. ויה"ר אשר כפתגם כ"ק אדמו"ר מוהר"ש ילך פון גוט צו בעסער בהקדם האפשרי במצב... שליט"א, ובמילא גם בתוכן הבשו"ט שלו. ולפלא קצת שלמרות מה שדברתי עמדו קודם נסעו, שלא יכבידו על... שי' בענינים של יראת שמים כו' וכו', והרי התורה נתנה רשות (שפירושו ג"כ כח) לרופא לרפאות וא"כ הוראותיו בזה ה"ה בכח התורה, ובכ"ז נראה ממכתבו שאין נזהרים בזה. ובודאי גם זה יהי' לטובה, אבל בכ"ז אין זה הנהגה כלל. ועכ"פ מכאן ולהבא ישמעו לציוויי הרופא בזה...
