Greetings and blessing,

You tell me about two young men who have become teachers, and I am pleased by this. No doubt the classes they give do not weaken their ability to study Gemara* in depth and, on the contrary, contribute to their progress. One must be careful in this matter and verify that this is indeed the case, for the difference between these two situations is very fine, at least initially.

You ask me about the Tzedakah* corresponding to the days of the year (see, on this subject, letter no. 3073). You will transmit it to my charity fund, which for the time being is managed by the Chabad* Association.

The students of the Lubavitch Yeshivah* who have the capacity will surely participate in the campaign that will be conducted for the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, before it and after it. And they will do likewise in the future, at the appropriate dates.

The Alter Rebbe*, at the beginning of his Torah Or*, gives the assurance that by acting in this way (by rendering service to another Jew), one receives "a mind and a heart a thousand times more refined." This means that study and effort, obviously, remain necessary. Nevertheless, one thus receives the promise that one will obtain in one hour what ordinarily requires a thousand times more. There is no exaggeration in this, as emphasized by the explanations given on this subject, which are printed in the Likkutei Torah* on the three Parshiyos*, which you will consult.

I send you my blessing on the occasion of the luminous day, the Rosh Hashanah* of Chassidus*. May you yourself, all those who assist you in your sacred mission, all your students and disciples, be inscribed and sealed for good study, in the study of Chassidus* and in its practices.

בשאלתו אודות צדקת מספר ימי השנה הרי יכניסום בקרן גמ"ח שלי הנמצא לע"ע ע"י אגו"ח.

בודאי ישתתפו התלמידים המתאימים לזה מתומכי תמימים בהתעמולה שיעשו ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו ושלפניו ושלאחריו וכן על להבא בזמנים המתאימים. וידוע הבטחת רבנו הזקן בראש ספרו תורה אור שנעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה, אף שמובן מזה שצריכים ללמוד ולהתייגע הרי ביחד עם זה מבטיח שיגיעת שעה אחת תצליח כמו יגיעת אלף פעמים ככה, וזה לא בדרך גוזמא וכמובן מה[גה]ות על זה שנדפסו בלקו"ת לג' פרשיות, עיין שם.

בברכה ליום הבהיר ר"ה לחסידות יתברכו הוא וכל המסייעים בעבודת הקדש וכל תלמידיו ומושפעיו ולשנה טובה בלימוד החסידות ודרכי החסידות תכתבו ותחתמו.
