15 Kislev* 5715,
Brooklyn.

To all our brethren, the children of Israel, who cherish
and honor the Torah* and the Mitzvos*,
may Hashem grant them long life,

Greetings and blessing,

The annual celebration of the center of the Lubavitch Yeshivos* will take place on Sunday of Parshas* Va'eira*, 22 Teves* 5715. On this occasion, I send my greetings and my blessing to the leaders of this institution, to those who assist it and to the donors. May the promise be fulfilled in them: "It is a tree of life for those who strengthen themselves in it, and those who support it are happy."

The fundamental role of the Yeshivah*, which is at the very foundation of Jewish existence, is, thank Hashem, clearly established in all circles. In the present era, the contribution of the Yeshivos* is even more decisive, especially in America. It is there that a Jewish child receives not only the knowledge of Torah* and Mitzvos* that is necessary for him, but also the means to assume his Judaism fully, in order to have a happy and harmonious life, in accordance with the teachings of our Torah*, Torah of life — that is, to live, in the most literal sense, in this material world.

Everyone knows that the Lubavitch Yeshivos*, numbering several hundred students, occupy an important place in Jewish life in America. On the one hand, they assume the important and beautiful role of every Yeshivah*. On the other hand, they also possess a distinctive quality — the spirit of love for one's fellow and self-sacrifice for Torah* and Mitzvos* that one acquires there, so that its students are conscious of their responsibility and their commitment toward the people of Israel, assume it fully, and are "lights to illuminate" their surroundings, through "the candle that is a Mitzvah* and the Torah* that is a light."

The Lubavitch Yeshivos* are currently going through a financial crisis. It is therefore a sacred obligation to help them by providing generous support, in order to enlarge and develop all their departments.

One will therefore not be content merely to give the Yeshivos* the possibility of existing. One will provide them with the financial means that will allow them to continue their expansion and development, like everything that lives and must therefore grow.

Our holy masters, whose merit will protect us, have given us the assurance that whoever, man or woman, lends assistance to the Lubavitch Yeshivos* will arouse the channels and receptacles through which he will obtain material abundance, satisfaction from his children, and all that is good, materially and spiritually.

With my blessing for all that is good,
