To the great Rav, distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem,
Rav Yehudah Zerachya Mordechai Leib Chaim (Rav Y. Z. M. L. H. Segal, of Tel Aviv),

Greetings and blessing,

I have duly received your letter of Monday of Parshas* Vayeishev*. You announce good news to me and tell me that you have purchased a house in the place where you carry out your mission. Just as you have acquired a material dwelling, may Hashem grant that you also obtain a spiritual dwelling.

One acquires an object by paying its price or, if it is a movable item, by taking hold of it (by lifting it or pulling it). The Sefer HaMitzvos* of the Tzemach Tzedek*, in the Mitzvah* of adjudicating commercial disputes, explains what this corresponds to. The Likkutei Torah*, at the end of Parshas* Devarim*, and the end of the series of Chassidic* discourses entitled "the many waters," delivered in 5636 (1876, by the Rebbe Maharash*), specifies what a spiritual dwelling is.

I am surprised that you say nothing about your participation in the Chassidic* farbrengen* on the luminous day of 19 Kislev*, the liberation of the Alter Rebbe*, author of the holy Tanya* and Decisor of the hidden dimension of the Torah*, author of the Shulchan Aruch* and Decisor of the revealed dimension of the Torah*.

מאשר הנני קבלת מכתבו מב' וישב בבשורה הטובה שקנה דירה במקום משרתו בקדש. ויה"ר מהשי"ת שכמו שקנה בית גשמי, כן יקנה ביתו הרוחני, שקנין הוא ע"י מעות וחזקה ובמטלטלין ג"כ על ידי משיכה. וכמבואר הענין בספר המצות להצמח צדק מצות לדון במו"מ. ובית ברוחניות מבואר בלקו"ת סוף פ' דברים ובסוף המשך דמים רבים תרל"ו.

לפלא שאינו כותב ע"ד השתתפותו בהתועדות דיום הבהיר הוא י"ט כסלו גאולת רבנו הזקן בעל התניא קדישא - פוסק בנסתר דתורה - והשולחן ערוך - פוסק בנגלה דתורה -.
