Greetings and blessing,

I received with pleasure your letter, written after your return to the Holy Land, to which were attached two copies of the weekly Machanayim*. I thank you for this thoughtfulness, which strengthens my hope that our discussion will indeed have concrete consequences in the various areas we discussed. Before parting, I pointed out to you a saying (see, on this subject, letters no. 2432 and 2592) of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us, according to which, when two Jews meet, there must result from it, in addition to the intrinsic benefit for each of them, a good for a third person or, better yet, for the greatest number.

In this connection, there is in the Machanayim* of the week of 19 Kislev* an article (see also, on this subject, letters no. 3162 and 3180) about what was said here during the Chassidic* farbrengen*. It is regrettable that this article contains, for the most part, confusions and inaccuracies, both in the translation and in the account of what took place.

I know that you are interested in Chassidus* in general and in Chabad* Chassidus* in particular. I therefore enclose a pamphlet on 19 Kislev*, published recently. This was composed, in its time, in the vernacular, our mother tongue (Yiddish*), by my father-in-law, the Rebbe, then translated into Hebrew.

No doubt you will not fail to inform me of the positive consequences that our meeting has had. I thank you in advance.

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מאחרי עלותו לאה"ק ת"ו בצירוף ב' החוברות של השבועון "מחנים". ות"ח על שימת לבבו, שזה מחזקני בתקוה אשר תהיינה לשיחתנו תוצאות ממשיות בענינים השונים עליהם דברנו, וכפי שאמרתי לכ' טרם הפרדנו פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, אשר כששנים מישראל נפגשים יחד, הרי נוסף על התועלת שלכל אחד מהנפגשים יש להשתדל שתצמח מזה טובה גם לשלישי ומה טוב לרבים.
