Greetings and blessing,
I learned with pleasure that the physician permitted you to return home. May Hashem grant that your condition continue to improve.
It is surely unnecessary to remind you that "the Torah* granted the physician the right to heal." This principle is established by the Torah* itself. Do not, therefore, follow those who make the error of claiming that whoever has fear of Hashem should not rely on the physician, but rather solely on Hashem Himself. The contrary is true.
You know the saying of the Rebbe Rashab*, which he transmitted to his son, my father-in-law, the Rebbe, showing him his arm: "See how precious this is, for upon it have been poured so much Torah* and Mitzvos*" (see, on this subject, letter no. 2178). You also know the following saying of the Alter Rebbe*: "One has no idea to what extent the Jewish body is cherished by Hashem" (see, on this subject, letter no. 2383).
May Hashem grant you success and hasten your recovery. For this, you will follow the prescriptions of the physician, emissary of the One Who "heals all flesh and performs wonders." And you will recover all these days (of illness), which will be multiplied for you, because your success will be increased in the study of the Torah* and the practice of the Mitzvos*, after you have recovered your health.
With my blessing of a speedy recovery and a complete recovery,
M. Schneerson,
