Greetings and blessing,

I reply to your letter of the fourth day of Chanukah*. In the meantime, you have surely received mine.

I learned with satisfaction that new students have joined the Yeshivah* Achei Temimim* of Rishon LeTzion (of which Rav Brook is the director). You say that they are "boys from the street." Basing myself on the teaching of our Sages, according to which it is possible to separate the wheat from the chaff, I have good hope that you yourself and all the others will multiply your efforts toward them, to the fullest extent of your means.

Certainly, it is known that the good of all — and all the more so protection against what is harmful to all — takes precedence over the good of a single individual. But before pushing away, one must first seek all means of not reaching that point.

May Hashem grant you success in this area.

נהניתי ממ"ש אשר נתוספו תלמידים בישיבת אחי תמימים דרשל"צ, ומ"ש שהם כמו גאסיקע בחורים, תקותי חזקה - נשען על מרז"ל ע"ד להוציא יקר מזולל - שיוסיף זה בו ובכל אלה ששייך הדבר אליהם להשתדל גם באלו ככל יכולתם. ואף שידועה הנקודה שטובת הרבים ועאכו"כ מניעת היזק הרבים דוחה טובת היחיד, הרי מקודם לדיחוי צריך לחפש כל הדרכים ואפשר יש להמנע ממנה, והשי"ת יצליחו בזה...
