To the association of Chabad* women and girls,
Pittsburgh chapter,
may Hashem grant you long life,

Blessing and greeting,

I received with pleasure your letter of 4 Teves*, in which you announce the creation of the Pittsburgh chapter of Chabad* women and girls. May Hashem grant that this creation take place at a good and fruitful time, that the action of this association continue with success, that it spread "the candle (which) is a Mitzvah* and the Torah* (which) is a light," as well as the luminary of the Torah*, in yourselves and in all your surroundings.

In this way, each of the participants will obtain an increased blessing and success in all her needs, as well as those of the members of her family.

I am particularly pleased to note, from reading your letter, that you have decided to open your association to those among your friends who are more distant. In fact, all Jews are close to one another, for they are bound to Hashem, Who transcends all limits. One need only open one's eyes to see that "all Jews are brothers," as explained in chapter 32 of the Tanya* and as shown by the Tzemach Tzedek* in his commentary on the Mitzvah*: "You shall love your fellow as yourself."

You will find enclosed a check in the amount of eighteen, from one of the funds of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, whose merit will protect us. You will dedicate it to the expenses generated by your activities. Obviously, these few dollars are not decisive. This is merely a means of making your holy mission even more fruitful.

I also enclose a copy of one of my letters addressed to all Chabad* women and girls. This was written on the occasion of 19 Kislev*, but its content applies and matters throughout the entire year.

With my blessing of success in your holy mission and that you give good news, including of your personal concerns,

במענה על מכתבו מכ״ו טבת ,מה שכותב אודות מצבו בעבודה

והעבר ,הרי ידוע מה שהתורה מספרת שהשי״ת נתן לכל אחד מספיק

כוחות כדי להתגבר על היצר הרע שלו ולנצחו .צריך רק להיות החלטי

שאחרת -לא יתכן ,וכשעושים זאת בעזרת השי״ת ,לא עם הכוחות

האישיים ,אזי המלחמה עמו נעשית קלה יותר ,ומנצחים אותו.

ברור ,שלכל דבר זקוקים לסייעתא דשמיא וגם בפרט זה ,ולכן עליו

להשתדל לשמור את שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ״ק

מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים,

וגם לתת בכל יום חול כמה פרוטות לצדקה לפני התפילה ,והשי״ת יעזור

שיפסיק לשמוע את ההסתה של היצה״ר ״שיש לו עבר שפל והווה לא

כדבעי ,במילא בין כך לא יוכל להתגבר״ .שכל זה הוא מהשקרים של

המלך זקן וכסיל ,שאינו יכול לעמוד במלחמה עם יהודי ובפרט עם

חסיד.

ברכה מהשי״ת צריכה ויכולה להיות בהנהגה של שלום ,שזהו כלי

המחזיק ברכתו של הקב״ה ,ולכן עליו להשתדל עם כל הכוחות שיהי׳

אצלו שלום בית ,ואפילו אם נדמה לו שהצדק עמק ואפילו כאשר זה אכן

כך ,יש לפעול זאת בדרכי נועם ודרכי שלום שזו חובתו של כל יהודי

וחסיד בפרט להיות מעביר על מדותיו ,שאז רואים הצלחה בכל.

והשי״ת יברך אותו ואת זוגתו תחי׳ וימלא ימי הריונה כשורה

ובנקל ,ותלד זחו״ק בעתה ובזמנה כשורה ובקל.
