Greetings and blessing,
The sending of this letter was delayed. In the meantime, I received the letter of Rav D., who writes me:
A) That the irrigation well (one of the two that a Mikveh* must have) must have the shape of the letter Ches* and that he recommends making a straight opening and not one oriented from top to bottom. I agree with him on this point.
B) That he gave permission to make rubber stoppers (see, on this subject, letter no. 3189). And this is indeed what was done. I do not agree with this, in accordance with the teaching of the Rebbe Rashab*, which is printed at the end of the Taharas Mayim* (Halachic* compilation on the Mikveh* by Rav N. Telushkin) and in the Taharas Yom Tov* (by Rav Chananya Yom Tov Lipa Deutsch; see, on this subject, letter no. 3189), introduction of the sixth volume. These must be made of wood.

... נתעכב שילוח מכ' זה. ובינתים נתקבל מכתב זה מהר"ד שי' וכותב א) שההשקה היא כמו ח , ויעץ לעשות חור ההולך ישר ולא בדרך מלמעלמ"ט. ומסכים הנני לדעתו. ב) שהתיר והורה להם לעשות שטאפער מגומי. ואין דעתי כן, ע"פ הוראת כ"ק אדמו"ר מהרש"ב נ"ע - נדפסה בסו"ס טהרת מים ובס' של הנ"ל טהרת יו"ט ח"ו בהקדמה - וצריך לעשותה מעץ.
