To the distinguished Chassid* who fears Hashem* and devotes himself to communal needs, Rav* Chaim (see note 1),

Greetings and blessings,

I have just received a letter informing me that the Lubavitch community or synagogue of Winnipeg* is going to purchase a new plot of land or have the old building reconstructed. Now, there exists in Winnipeg* a problem regarding the Mikveh* (see letter no. 3189), and this is therefore the opportunity to build one at that location.

However, I have no details on this matter, and I therefore turn to you so that you may do everything possible in this area. If you indicate to me a person to whom I should write on this subject, it is obvious that I will do so at the earliest.

The immense merit that this represents is inestimable, and whoever can intervene in this matter must regard it as a personal achievement. Hashem* grants, indeed, the means to save an entire Jewish community and to introduce into it purity, which brings the redemption* closer.

I hope that you will give me good news — that you have set to work. I express the wish that Hashem* grant you success in this matter. And I await your prompt reply.
