Greetings and blessings,

I am responding to your letter of the 26th of Teves*, in which you describe your professional situation and your past. As you know, the Torah* affirms that Hashem* has given each person the necessary strength to confront his evil inclination* and to vanquish it. One must only convince oneself that it cannot be otherwise. When one achieves this, with the help of Hashem* and not by one's own means, it is easier to fight and to achieve victory.

Obviously, the help of Hashem* is necessary in every domain, and this is also the case here. For this purpose, you must therefore maintain the three studies that concern every individual, instituted by my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, whose merit protects us. These pertain to the Chumash*, the Tehillim*, and the Tanya*, and are well known.

Every weekday, you will give several coins to Tzedakah* before the prayer*, and Hashem* will assist you so that you cease listening to the incitations of your evil inclination*, which seeks to convince you — according to your own expression — that your past is catastrophic, that your current situation is not brilliant, and that you will therefore not succeed.

All of this is nothing but the falsehood of the "old and foolish king," who cannot prevail when he enters into battle against a Jew and especially against a Chassid*.

A blessing from Hashem* must and can pass through peaceful conduct. Peace is the receptacle containing the blessing of the Holy One, blessed be He. You must therefore endeavor, by every means, to establish peace in your home. Even if it seems to you that you are right, even if this is indeed the case, you must adopt a conciliatory and peaceful attitude. A Jew, and especially a Chassid*, is obligated to restrain himself. It is in this way that one achieves success in every domain.

May Hashem* bless you, as well as your wife — that her pregnancy proceed well and be easy, that she give birth at her due time and with ease.

במענה על מכתבו מכ״ו טבת ,מה שכותב אודות מצבו בעבודה

והעבר ,הרי ידוע מה שהתורה מספרת שהשי״ת נתן לכל אחד מספיק

כוחות כדי להתגבר על היצר הרע שלו ולנצחו .צריך רק להיות החלטי

שאחרת -לא יתכן ,וכשעושים זאת בעזרת השי״ת ,לא עם הכוחות

האישיים ,אזי המלחמה עמו נעשית קלה יותר ,ומנצחים אותו.

ברור ,שלכל דבר זקוקים לסייעתא דשמיא וגם בפרט זה ,ולכן עליו

להשתדל לשמור את שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ״ק

מו״ח אדמו״ר זצוקללה״ה נבג״מ זי״ע בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים,

וגם לתת בכל יום חול כמה פרוטות לצדקה לפני התפילה ,והשי״ת יעזור

שיפסיק לשמוע את ההסתה של היצה״ר ״שיש לו עבר שפל והווה לא

כדבעי ,במילא בין כך לא יוכל להתגבר״ .שכל זה הוא מהשקרים של

המלך זקן וכסיל ,שאינו יכול לעמוד במלחמה עם יהודי ובפרט עם

חסיד.

ברכה מהשי״ת צריכה ויכולה להיות בהנהגה של שלום ,שזהו כלי

המחזיק ברכתו של הקב״ה ,ולכן עליו להשתדל עם כל הכוחות שיהי׳

אצלו שלום בית ,ואפילו אם נדמה לו שהצדק עמק ואפילו כאשר זה אכן

כך ,יש לפעול זאת בדרכי נועם ודרכי שלום שזו חובתו של כל יהודי

וחסיד בפרט להיות מעביר על מדותיו ,שאז רואים הצלחה בכל.

והשי״ת יברך אותו ואת זוגתו תחי׳ וימלא ימי הריונה כשורה

ובנקל ,ותלד זחו״ק בעתה ובזמנה כשורה ובקל.
