Igrot Kodesh · Letter 3281 — Grief & Loss
Volume 10 · Letter 318
B"H,
17 Shevat 5715,
Brooklyn,
I greet you and bless you,
I respond to your letter, in which you describe your situation at the Yeshivah*, what happened to you previously, and the manner in which you can rectify yourself.
You must, first of all, redouble your ardor in the study of Torah — its revealed dimension and its inner teaching, which is its soul: Chassidus*.
You ask me how to rectify the transgression you mention, which imprisons the vitality of the domain of Holiness within the forces of evil, which Hashem should protect us from (i.e., the emission of seed in vain). For this, you must make efforts so that your study is filled with enthusiasm (thereby investing in this study the lost vitality), and you should influence your friends to do likewise.
You should pay no heed to the advances of the yetzer hara*, which troubles a person through various thoughts — particularly foreign thoughts. If you sincerely desire to achieve this, Hashem will grant you success.
With my blessing,
For the Rebbe Shlita,
