Greetings and blessings,

I received with pleasure your letter, apparently written at the end of the month of Nissan*, and the one that followed it. I read in them that you are fulfilling the Will of Hashem by observing the mitzvos* in general and by giving tzedakah* in particular. You do so with joy and generosity.

Without doubt, Hashem will keep His promise. He says, indeed: "Please put Me to the test in this matter," and through tzedakah*, "I will pour out blessing for you until there is more than enough." Thus, "measure for measure," you will receive it through this channel joyfully as well, "through the light of the countenance of the living King," the King of heaven. Above all, you will soon be able to announce to me that you have found the appropriate match for your eldest daughter.

You tell me that to those who propose a match for your daughter, you do not present the study of Chassidus* as a necessary prerequisite. You are right in this, for nowadays, the fear of Hashem leads, sooner or later, to adopting the instructions and practices of Chassidus*, and then, in due time, to studying its teachings.

You tell me that you participate in Chassidic* farbrengens* and I am pleased. Likewise, you discuss with the Chassidim* words of Torah* and Chassidic* conduct. One knows the importance that our holy masters, whose merit protects us, attach to these practices. All those who receive their teachings and put them into practice thereby bring them pleasure in the place where they now are — that is, in the heavenly chambers and the supernal worlds.

Without doubt, this satisfaction multiplies blessing and success, enabling one to obtain the fulfillment of all one's needs, as well as those of all the members of one's family.

With my blessing of Mazal Tov* on the occasion of your birthday, and that you have, in the expression of my father-in-law, the Rebbe*, a summer of good health and joy,

נעם לי לקבל מכתבו, כנראה משילהי ניסן ולשאחריו, ולקרות בם אשר מקיים ציווי הקב"ה בקיום המצות בכלל ובמצות הצדקה בפרט, שתהי' בשמחה ובטוב עין, ובודאי יקיים השי"ת הבטחתו שעלי' אומר ובחנוני נא בזאת, אשר ע"י מצות הצדקה, הרי והריקותי לכם ברכה עד בלי די, ומדה כנגד מדה, הרי יהי' גם זה בצנור של שמחה ובאור פני מלך חיים מלכא דלעילא, ובהעיקר אשר בקרוב יוכל לבשר שמצא שידוך מתאים בשביל בתם הבכירה תי'.

מובן שצודק במ"ש שאין הוא דורש מאלו שמציעים נכבדות בשבילה בתנאי קודם להשידוך לימוד תורת החסידות וכו', כי בזמננו זה יראת שמים סופה להביא לידי הליכה בהדרכות החסידות והנהגותי', ובמשך הזמן גם ללמוד תורתה.

נהניתי ממ"ש שמתועד הוא בתוככי אנ"ש ומתדבר אתם גם בהימים שבינתים בהנוגע לד"ת הנהגות חסידיות כו' וכו', והרי ידוע ומפורסם עד כמה נהנו מהנהגות כמו אלו נשיאנו הק' זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, ומובן ג"כ שכל אלו המקיימים פקודתם והוראותיהם וגורמים להם נחת רוח במקום הם נמצאים בהיכלות ובעולמות עליונים, שבודאי נחת רוח זה מביא לתוספת ברכה והצלחה בהמצטרך להמעורר לו ולכל ב"ב שיחיו.
